‘I always mess up.’ ‘I try and try and it’s never good enough.’
Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, you just won’t be the person you’re trying to be? I constantly feel this way over and over again.
Well then…STOP! No, seriously. Stop what you’re doing. Take a deep breath. And focus on these next few sentences.
God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for all the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. – Ephesians 2:8-9
Wait a minute. While we are trying so hard, God has already given it to us.
Now, before I go any further. What I’m NOT trying to imply is stop trying because you are not perfect and He is.
What I AM implying is, rest in the fact that IN Him, you are perfect.
Too often we focus on our efforts and forget the One who gave us everything.
What if instead of pouting on our failures, we choose to remind ourselves of His strength. That His strength overshadows our weakness.
Going back to Ephesians 2, salvation is a gift. A gift is when someone chooses to give it to you. You can’t work for it.
So give everything. When you fall, remember you are saved by His grace. Which is a gift given to you. Then get back up and press forward once again.
